Our Learn to Sail course for kids is designed to teach kids to sail on their own in a fun and exciting way. The course consists of 5 sailing sessions of 2 hours each, conducted on weekends and school holidays. By the end of the course, students would be capable of sailing the optimist class boat on their own with confidence and be ready to go to the next level i.e. racing. Introducing your kids to sailing would be a gift they would cherish all their life.
The Boat
The Optimist class boat is an internationally recognised boat designed specifically for kids under 15 years of age. It is the most popular sailboat in the world for kids. Majority of the present day Olympic and World champion sailors started sailing in the Optimist class boat. In India, several regattas and races are conducted every year, including national sailing championships and national ranking events. Kids are selected based on the results of these championships to represent India in international sailing championships.
Coaches
All our coaches are qualified sailors and certified by the Yachting Association of India. Almost all of them have themselves started sailing in the optimist class boat and have competed in national and international Optimist sailing championships.
Certification
On completion of the course, kids will get a certificate from Mumbai Sailing Club.
