Welcome to Mumbai Sailing Club – The Imperial Yacht Club of Mumbai

Mumbai Sailing Club is the imperial yacht club of Mumbai, located at Gateway of India, Colaba in Mumbai (originally known as Bombay). Sailing was introduced to Mumbai in the early years of the 1800 century by the British. The first sailing race was conducted on 6th February 1830 in Bombay (now Mumbai) and by the time the British left India, there were five yacht clubs in India.

Mumbai Sailing Club has been at the forefront to promote the sport of sailing in Mumbai, and today, it is the only club in Mumbai to provide a complete range of facilities for sailing and other water sports activities.

The club conducts training programs for its new members, where adults and kids above 15 years of age can learn sailing. For kids under 15 years, sailing sessions and camps are conducted on weekends and holidays.

While our club members get exclusive training benefits and sailing facilities, we have ensured that non- members get to experience boating to the fullest with our variety of courses in sailing, windsurfing, kayaking and power boating.
